How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. Having a roof rack to your vehicle helps solve the issue of not having enough cargo space, especially when you have a smaller pickup like the Colorado. It allows you to make use of the negative space on top of your truck to get those bigger, bulkier items on the road with you for your journey. So for example, if you want to get a rooftop carrier, rooftop basket, or even a bike carrier, you'd be able to take advantage of that space without taking away from your bed or your passenger area. The JetStream bars are a arrow-type bar, so it's shaped like a airplane wing to help cut through the wind resistance. On the Colorado, you have a great amount of space between the top of the bar and the roof, so that's gonna work for most rooftop accessories that clamp around bars. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at installing the Demco Wireless Coachlink on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. So the reason we're gonna be installing the Wireless Coachlink is when our neighbor installed their Stay In Play Duo, they went with a kit that has the LED lights for the indicator, which is a fine way to indicate that the brakes are being applied. So we had that installed on our rear view mirror. You can see when I pressed the brake, that is gonna light up. And that's not a bad solution. more

How a brake controller works is when you have a trailer with electric brakes, this control is gonna send a signal from up here back to your trailer to letting you know to stop. So today we have a proportional one. So how that works is if you press down either light or hard it's gonna match that on your trailer as well. The energize III brake controller is gonna be great for hauling those trailers with one to three axles. more

Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Synchronizer Trailer Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So what a brake controller does is when you press down on your brakes in your vehicle, this is gonna send a signal all the way back to your trailer that has electric brakes on it, then press its brakes. Now, today, we have a time delayed one, so that's not gonna be like our proportional brake controllers. How it differs is a proportional brake controller, when you press down on the brakes, if you press down hard, it's gonna press down hard on your trailer's, and if you press down light, it's gonna press down light on your trailer brakes. While this is gonna work a little bit differently, and it's not gonna provide you as smooth of a ride. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit for flat towed vehicles on a 2020 Chevrolet Spark. A charging line is an easy addition to a flat towed vehicle. It's very simple to install, but it's a really nice feature, and if it saves you from having to charge your battery before using your towed vehicle once, I think it pays itself off. And pretty simple, it ties into your six pole up front, and you just simply run that wire to a circuit breaker where you attach a ring terminal, and then from there, you connect another ring terminal to a wire that goes directly to your battery. And all that's gonna do is send that power via the umbilical from the 12 volt power on the RV to the battery here. And that way, it trickle charges as you go along. more

Curt 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter Rails Installation - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at eTrailer and today, we're taking a look at the Curt Adaptor Rails for 5th Wheels. Now, this is gonna work for the OEM prep package that we have here on our 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500. The puck system or OEM prep package, as they call it that a lot of newer trucks are seeing are really nice because you can simply drop in a 5th Wheel, but, if you already have a 5th Wheel and it's not compatible, it's normally in a rail system. Well, you can pick up this adapter to make that fifth wheel head work. Now, these are standard rails as far as the industry goes so it's gonna work with most 5th Wheel heads. The only one that really has compatibility issues, is gonna be the BMW Sliding Companion and that's just because of the clearance as it slides. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Hey guys, Kevin with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Switch here on our 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500. To flat tow your vehicle you need five main components and that's gonna be your towbar, your base plate, your diode wiring, your braking system and then also your safety cables. Now there are gonna be a couple of outlier products whether it's gonna be a relay, a stoplight switch kit or in our case a battery disconnect and if you have any questions or you just don't know exactly what you need for your vehicle, you can reach out to us via our expert link and send them a question asking for the right components for your specific vehicle and someone like me or one of my other coworkers will answer your question. If you plan on towing your Chevy Silverado 2500, you are gonna be required to remove the positive post on your battery. That's gonna protect some of the internal components and prevent battery draining as you're flat towing. Now, that's gonna require you removing this cover and pulling the battery cable off every single time and putting it back on when you do need to use your vehicle which can be quite a hassle. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit, but before we get into that, why don't we just take a minute and talk about why it's a good idea to use one of these. What a battery charge line kit is gonna do is really simple. It's going to use some of the power from your motor home seven-way, the auxiliary power, and send some of that amperage back here to your vehicle's battery, and what that's gonna do is keep the battery topped off and charged up. That way it doesn't get depleted, because what can happen when you're flat towing, a lot of times, you know, your supplemental breaking system, and some other components, at times, it uses your battery power, and so, when you're going on long trips, it's constantly stealing a little bit of power over and over again, and then you get to where you're going, the battery can be dead, and that's a huge pain, because then you've gotta jump it, or charge it, whatever the case may be. So, having this in here is gonna give you that peace of mind knowing, whenever you're going down the road, and you're ready to disconnect, the car's gonna start up, and you're not gonna have to deal with any issues there. more

Gonna work with the BAK Revolver X2, BAK roll-X, and BAKflip tonneau covers. One of the trade offs you usually have to have If you have a tonneau cover is you can't have a toolbox. Usually those go over the rails, there are some in bed truck box toolboxes that sit in the bed but then that's gonna take up all your space in the bed too. Roadmaster InvisiBrake Second Vehicle Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hi there, Chevrolet owners. Today on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's second vehicle kit for the InvisiBrake supplemental braking system. The second vehicle kit from Roadmaster will allow you to take an existing InvisiBrake system that you've got on one vehicle and move it over to another vehicle. This is great if you've got a vehicle, maybe that's got a little more miles on it that you're wanting to have on it and you upgrade to a newer, nicer vehicle, but you still want to flat tow with that vehicle. You will have to reuse your operating unit and the actuating cylinder, but the kit will come with all the wiring that we need to get this mounted up. So we don't have to save all those wires and try to feed that out of the old car. more

The battery charge line allows you to charge your battery, or trickle charge charger battery, from your motor home while the vehicle is being flat towed. It's gonna be a single wire that runs from the center panel on your six pole plug, up to the breaker, from the breaker to the battery. Hi there, Trailblazer owners. Today on your 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Battery Disconnect. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motorhome. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motorhome and your vehicle. You'll need your base plate, which is the connection point on your vehicle that your tow bar will attach to. You'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. more

Today, on our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Demco Hijacker 5th wheel Autoslide system for your OEM puck system. This system's gonna be for you if you have the OEM puck system and you have a short-bed. Basically, what happens is with the short-beds, as you start turning, a lot of the ones you're gonna have to like manually release so you can slide it back. So, you're not gonna have any damage happening to the cab of your truck. With this one, as it starts to rotate, it's gonna slide back automatically to prevent any contact from happening. more

What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today on our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Demco Hijacker autosliding 5th Wheel System for your OEM puck system. This system's gonna be for you if you have the OEM puck system and you have a short bed. Basically what happens is with these short beds, as you start turning, a lot of the ones, you're gonna have to manually release so you can slide it back so you're not gonna have any damage happening to the cab of your truck. With this one, as it starts to rotate, it's gonna slide back automatically to prevent any contact from happening. We're gonna get about 14 inches of slide with our 5th wheel head and it is gonna rotate up to 90 degrees with our trailer. more

So with this kit, you can get your four pole turned over to a seven way while still maintaining functionality of a four-pole, because that does come included with your seven way here. If you follow along with us, we're going to get it installed here on the van and show you step by step so you get the confidence to do it at home. Connor: Hey, everyone, Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect, here, for our 2020 Chevy Spark. The automatic battery disconnect here is going to be an excellent option here for our Chevy Spark. And the reason for this, mainly the main reason here is that our owner's manual does allow for this vehicle to be flat-towed if it has a manual transmission. However, in order to do this, we do need to disconnect the battery. There's usually a couple of reasons behind this, such as battery drain while our vehicle is in-tow, as well as sometimes disabling some of the components on the vehicle so it can be flat-towed without damage.The automatic battery disconnect isn't a requirement, although it is required that we disconnect our battery here. more

Conner: Hey everyone, how's it going Connor today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Universal Install Kit for trailer brake controllers here on our 2018 Chevrolet Express Van. So this universal installation kit here is going to be an excellent option for our van. If you're like most vehicles there aren't going to be any trailer wiring provisions or provisions for a seven-way, which is why this is going to be an excellent option. It's going to take an existing four way we have and it's going to turn it into both a seven and four-way trailer connector. Now the seven-way trailer connector these are going to be used on our larger trailers that have a brake output circuit. more
